Rye Community Primary School, East Sussex
End User Contract Administration for ESCC on Rye Community Primary School and Children’s Centre in East Sussex. Project value £7m.
As the buildings are built on the limits of the flood plain they are elevated above ground level on a raised plinth, which together with poor ground-bearing strata brought a number of construction challenges.
The specification is very advanced and includes a ground source heat pump to work in conjunction with a gas fired central heated system to provide cost effective central heating, which together with a green sedum roof on the main school building and specialised glazing incorporates a number of renewable energy features.
